By the efforts of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture & Technology, Meerut and District Administration Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Baghpat was sanctioned by the Indian Council of Agriculture Research vide the letter No. 2-1/98-AE-II dated 27.10.2004. The work of establishment was started in July 2005 under the administrative control of S.V.P.U.A. & T, Meerut.

The District administration has allotted 31-acre land for the centre. It is situated 10 Km. away towards Delhi from District Head Quarter at Khekra Pathshala near the newly constructed Khekra Tehsil. The KVK has infrastructure such as Administrative Building, Farmer Hostel, Staff Quarters, etc. The KVK is working to fulfill the mandates of the KVK decided by the ICAR.
